About me
My exhibition at neale donald walsh retreat gaunts house 2008
Hi there,
Here is a condensed story of my creative side of my life.
Ive always enjoyed drawing and painting since i can remember anything. It was the only subject at school that i liked. I did badly at school and i was very destructive after a very traumatic childhood in which both parents died at a early age .so and ended up joining the army at sixteen in 1988 .I didnt do anything creative for 5 years and spent my time in the army in hatred of the world (best place for me really). When i left the army i was just as angry at life as when i first joined. I got myself in more trouble after fighting with a policeman on a night out. I was sentenced to a year in prison where i found my creative side once again and started to wake up. I found focus on a prison art coarse which i was lucky to enroll on at the start and before long i was painting other inmates familys. I spent all my time drawing. I managed to learn the arts of marbling, woodgraing, painting murals on a specialist decorating coarse .When i was released i spent a few years doing paint effects and murals in peoples homes around london. I then went on a nine months backpacking around asia and south america i found myself in a back street art shop in the copacabana rio brazil. Before i new it i was filling my backpack up with paints, brushes and other art goodies. I had no room for my clothes so i gave them away and had an extra bag for the canvases i squeezed in. It was very clear to me. On return to london i started painting on canvas and before long had a big collection. My friends thought i was crazy as i went deep into painting and it became my meditation and therapy.I met an inspiring woman called louise who was also in the same position as me. We got a stall together in london and on the first day i sold a painting(she also). Soon after i received many commitioned works, some for books. 15 years ago i moved to glastonbury, where i now work and exhibit. I continue grow. practice mindfulness ,meditate, shake, travel and live in peace. Hope you enjoy my work . Im always up for new projects or commissions .Please do contact me at [email protected]
Thank you for taking the time to look. Enjoy your, life and be kind to each other. :)
